Ski tour Feldberg

January 14th, 2012

Another ski tour to Feldberg leaving from the Stollenbacher Hütte. Unlike last weekend, this time, we intended to end up there. It was Leonie, Jutta and her boyfriend Elmar, and I.

First ski tour 2012

January 10th, 2012

As it’s supposed to be winter here I headed out with Waltraud and Basti for a ski tour. After getting lost in fog we ended up at the top of Feldberg. The weather was a bit nasty; very low visibility, cold, and windy.

Brendan visits

November 13th, 2011

Brendanas has been visiting over the last few days. We went and saw the Cat Empire playing across the border live in Strasbourg, France on Thursday night. They sounded great live and it was a good evening out with Nico, and Philipp.

On Friday we threw Brendan into a MRI scanner to see if we could find his brain. It was a fruitless search. All we could find in there was a little man sitting in front of a bank of monitors pulling levers. We went out with Nick and Cecile who were visiting Julian on Friday night for some Indians. They taste nicer in numbers.

On Saturday we conquered Schauinsland by bike with Jakob.

Brendan and I had an extended breakfast with Jana and Julian on Sunday morning.

And that’s pretty much it…

Bad Krozinger Herbstlauf 2011

November 6th, 2011

Julian, Elmar, Mirko, and I did the Bad Kronzinger Herbstlauf today. It was a nippy 8 degrees as we started on a gray day. I tried a different tactic than normal and ran along behind Julian for a few km at the start before finding a slower pace which I held for the rest of the race. I was reasonably happy with my legs. Unfortunately the organisers ripped us off by approx. 3 km (it was supposed to be a half marathon) and so it makes it difficult to compare times. I took approx. 1:26:00.
