It was a 9.8 km hill climb with approximately 950 vertical metres. The start order was from the slowest to the fastest (i.e. by placing on GC) at 30 second intervals. I set off about 9:30 and discovered after a minute or so that the course was quite steep at up to around 15 % gradient. Still I slogged along and passed perhaps ten people on the way up making it an enjoyable ride! The climb was around 950 m with something like 10% average gradient.
