It was, being spring time in Freiburg, rather cold\u2026 At least that has been the pattern this spring and today was no different although it wasn\u2019t raining! Aaaaamaaaazing.<\/p>\n<p>There were 12 keen starters there at 9 am. My legs felt a little sluggish as I headed off as they didn\u2019t seem to have recovered quite from the <a href=\"https:\/\/cris.lovell-smith.com\/trips\/2013\/05\/day-4-tour-de-kaerten-stage-1-20-km-tt\/\">Tour de K\u00e4rnten<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/cris.lovell-smith.com\/trips\/2013\/05\/21\/\">Dolomites<\/a> just yet. Despite this I puffed up the hill and was surprised when I looked at my speedo near the top and saw 36 minutes. Unfortunately I couldn\u2019t push any harder along the flat section at the end but was still happy with my time of 38:15 (RIG time). This put me in 3rd place from the starters and in 3rd place overall for the RIG cup. The previous night\u2019s alcohol seemed to have had a large negative impact on Marco as he would normally be a good bit faster than me on the climb.
