We had a fairly lazy day. It was pretty grey outside. In the afternoon we headed out to go touring but found the start of the tour required more motivation than we had. It looks like the first hour or so would require carrying of skis and navigation around a river. The tour started from sea level so I guess it wasn’t surprising that it was a bit patchy in mid April. Instead we drove back to the Air BnB where Hana bailed and Johannes and I did a short tour up towards Finnlandsfjellet. The start was also becoming a bit patchy and involved grass avoidance techniques. The sky out across the fiord was dark and moody with bright white somewhere in the distance where the sun was having some success. We skinned steeply up choosing not to zig zag. We climbed into the cloud until we were in a white out at which point we decided that it was enough for the day. We skied back down in the white until we emerged from under the clouds. It didn’t take long until we were back down at the cross country ski track. We skated along that and then coasted back down to the car.
