We left our campsite in the morning and headed through the hills, roughly towards Innsbruck. The weather was supposed to turn bad and rain was predicted but we were hoping to sneak in a klettersteig before the doom and gloom. The weather held as we drove through the hills and we found our way to Gerlos. We parked next to the river on the main road in one of the only spots that wasn’t owned by a hotel. It was a short walk to the start of the Riederklamm klettersteig. The route loosely followed the ravine upwards. We traversed along the side of the rock crossing a 70 m (apparently) rope bridge. Johannes finished up by doing an E section while the rest of us took a more chilled B ladder. We ate lunch at the river and then drove. The rain finally arrived all at once but by this time we didn’t care anymore having achieved our goal.
