I spent quite a while hanging out in Golden Bay and Abel Tasman in December 2017. The first trip was with the family but I couldn’t get enough of the place so I drove back up with Gina and met Craig there after Christmas.

During the first trip I caught up with Georgia who drove over from Nelson for a couple of days. We did some mountain biking, running, and some lazy kayaking. Jane also flew in and stayed with us for a few days, More kayaking, and some climbing.

On the second trip Gina, Craig, and I did two canyons. The first was Campbell Creek near Takaka and the second was Waterfall Creek in the Abel Tasman National Park. We also did some climbing at Paynes Ford and at the sea cliffs. After injuring myself slightly on the second canyon I decided to recuperate on the beach at Totaranui. Some of the running gang were there: Matt, Lara, Greig, Clare, Aaron, Sara and family, Viv, Dave, Michael, and Katie. Otherwise known as the family club. I got shown how slow I am by going running with some of them. I also went for a solo run into the park for a day. In the evenings I cooked some feasts with Michael and Katie .
