The day started with a 4wd drive up to the road end where we met the others coming out from their campsite at Caroline Hut. We faffed around for a while back at Mt Cook village and the campsite and then went climbing later in the day.
We climbed at the poo pond crag (?) at the Sebastapol Bluffs. Mikey and I climbed a nice two pitch 16 followed by a 14 and a 13. All bolted with nice anchors. The rock was nice slabby stuff with plenty of good holds. The climbs we did were all gently angled in the happy not-overhanging direction which made climbing enjoyable.
The weather didn’t know what to do as had been the case all day and occasionally we got nice views up to Mt Sefton and occasionally spots of rain and mist. Gina and the others watched our helmets from across the river below as we clambered up the rock, abseiled down, and repeated.
