We left our little apartment in the morning and dropped the key back to the tourist office. After a quick email check on the village wifi (each village has a number of open wifi hot spots… very cool that) we drove back around the side of the lake, parked, and set off on foot. We wandered up onto the the tops of the cliffs that surround the lake (Bohinjsko Jezero). The track was mostly in the forest but there was a nice lookout point with a good view of the lake along the way. Later on we got high enough to get a great view back down of the lake and also a view out to the surrounding mountains. We arrived at the summit of Prsevic, a wee mountain overlooking the lake around 4 pm. Our intention had been to continue on dropping down the steep track that Chris, Emily, and I had ascended by while we were here in 2009. However, there was still a fair bit of snow around the summit which meant finding the red route markers was rather challenging. After some slogging through the snow we decided it would probably be wiser to turn around and follow the same route back, which we did.

Once back at the car we drove to the camp site in Zlatorog at the head of the lake. The camp site hadn’t opened for the season which was brilliant as it meant only a few other campers, lots of space, and no fees. Yay. We pitched down by the lake. Leonie froze herself in the lake to try and get clean and then I did the same. We cooked up a yummy pasta vegie feast and then it was bedtime. Yay, bedtime…
