Leonie and I got up to a cold but dry day. We got ready and with long sleeves and long legs cycled up into the dolomites. There was more snow than last year and it was colder. The sun warmed us occasionally and vanished again behind clouds. We rode as far up Groedner Joch as we could until we got to a barrier across the road and snow behind it. We then headed back down to the junction and tried Sellajoch instead. Motorists looked at us with perplexed expressions and we slogged up the road with large banks of snow on either side. It was windy and -2 degrees at the pass. We took some quick photos and then descended the 1600 ish metres back down to our camp site in Klausen. My fingers froze and then thawed out painfully as we got down towards the valley floor. Hot showers were required at the camp and then the sun came out in force, which was very nice. We lazed about the camp site and talked about how hard-out we are…
