We had planned to head off in search of warmer weather but the sun came out before we were packed so instead we went for a road ride. So did thousands of other people. They closed the roads to vehicles around the Sella Group of mountains for 7 hours and it was a free for all for cyclists.

We headed up to Passo di Pordoi first. I road at a reasonably quick pace until a very speedy mountain biker overtook me at which point I had to ride a bit faster. I arrived at the top of the pass in about 50 minutes and waited for Leonie. There were people everywhere. There had been people everywhere on the ascent too, making it necessary to weave between them.

We descended from the first pass, had a small portion of hot chips and then rode up Passo Compolongo, a small pass, and descended again. Then we had a longer climb up to Passo Gardena. It was very cold by this time with spots of rain. One more descent and then we had the last climb up to Sellajoch before one last cold descent back to the camp site.

A nice ride but rather cold. Nice not to have motorbikes buzzing like flies all day long. I rode the same thing in 2013 with Thomas and Marco but clockwise and with snow. Still it felt colder today!
