Todd and Kate arrived yesterday from London. It’s a full house here now with Greer, Todd, and Kate camping in my “living room”. Katha came over in the evening and we made Käsespatze with more than a little help from my land-lady Christine. Dinner was eaten with Christine, her son Christoff and his girlfriend Nadine. The German’s tried out their best English and Greer and I spoke our best German. It was enough to be able to communicate. The Käsespätzle was most tasty.

Above: Dinner with Germans and Kiwis. Todd, Kate, and Greer stayed with me over New Years and we ate Käsespätzle our German hosts.

We headed into Oberstdorf later in the evening and watched the residents blow up the town centre. It seems the Oberstdorfians are all pyromaniacs. We had a few drinks in the Irish Pub afterwards to calm our nerves.

Above: Greer bought a pack of sparklers and we did our best fireworks show. It really was nothing compared to the show the crazy Oberstdorf folk put on. This involved many explosions and fire rockets as shown on the right. Good stuff.
