I tried couch-surfing-proper today. By that I mean that I surfed someone’s couch. I met Elizabeth, my host, at the main station in Graz. Mark and Sylvia were also waiting for me and we swapped addresses before they headed off to catch up with their friend Marcel.
I took the S-Bahn with Elizabeth to her flat in Graz. She lives near the centre of Graz with three guys in an old but nice flat. She’s a student and is studying German and English at the university in Graz. She’s very friendly and made me feel welcome. I even had a room to myself as one of her flat mates was away. I met another flat mate, Martin, also friendly, and we went out to a pizza restaurant for tea. We spoke a mixture of German and English as we consumed our very large “small” pizzas. The restaurant was aimed at students and matched my budget perfectly.
The three of us watched a DVD back at their flat later on. A good couch surfing experience. Thanks for hosting me.
