Leonie and I went on a fun ski tour starting from the Balderschwang German/Austrian border, heading up to Burstkopf then to a little hut (Burgl Hütte) for a refreshment before heading up to Feuerstätterkopf. On our return we dropped down too early and got stuck in a river that had thawed and after floundering around in the snow for a while had to ascend again before skiing out arriving at the car at dusk.
Above left: We headed off from Balderschwang on the Austrian/German border for a ski tour up Burstkopf, and Feuerstätterkopf. The weather was nice and it was extremely warm. Since it was spring conditions the snow across the river had melted and it proved too difficult to cross (also because the snow on the other side made getting back up the other side difficult.) Instead we turned around and slogged back up the hill a bit before finding a hiking trail and following that back to where we should have been.
